Bake together. Panic quietly.

You and up to four friends are crammed into one tiny bakery on the busiest morning of the week — and somewhere between the flour and the chaos, you've all gone quiet.

Read the room, play your cards at just the right moment, and get every order out before it all goes up in smoke. You can't say what's in your hand — so you'll have to bake like you can read minds.

How to play

Quietly brilliant teamwork, one bake at a time

The goal

You and 2–4 other bakers share one busy kitchen. Team up to fill every recipe order before the cards run out — but it's far too loud to chat, so you'll have to read the table and play in sync. Short on bakers? The host can add bot bakers to fill the counter — or take a solo practice shift with Learn to play.

The five stations

Every card belongs to a station suit numbered 1–9, plus Timer cards (1–4). Timer cards trump every other suit — if any Timer is played, the highest one wins the bake, which makes Timer 4 the most powerful card in the kitchen.

Timer

Trumps every station card, may always be played (even when you could follow), and Timer 4 beats everything

Mise en place (before the baking starts)

Once the cards are dealt, take a breath and plan: hand out order tickets to whoever wants to own them, and — once per shift — trade a single card with a teammate (they choose what to give back). When everyone presses “I'm ready to bake”, the shift begins.

Each “bake” (a round of cards)
  1. The lead baker plays one card — its station sets the bake.
  2. Everyone else must follow that station if they hold one — but Timer cards are trump, and may ALWAYS be played, even while you still hold the led station.
  3. The highest card of the led station wins the bake — unless a Timer (the trump) is played, in which case the highest Timer wins.
  4. The winner collects the cards and leads the next bake.
Recipe orders

Little order tickets tell you which cards must be won — by whom, in what order, or within a timing window (e.g. “win this before bake 4”). Fill them all and the shift is done.

Kitchen Callout

Once per shift you may reveal one card and say it's your only, strongest, or weakest of its station — but only if it's true. That's your single way to share what's in your hand, so spend it wisely.

Order up — or batch ruined

Fill every order and it's “Shift complete!”. Run out of cards (or break an order's rule) and it's “Batch ruined!” — dust off and head back to the mixing bowl for another go.
